Midnight Captures
( First, it's not a poem or an organized text.
Second, it's about three pictures which I got under their spell on Facebook. They kind of talked through me.
Third, I can't share the photos because they are not mine in the first place.)
Capture 1:
Look at me … or don’t.
No one would understand this void!
“The eyes”, Chinese said,” are window to the soul.”
But I have none to show.
Trapped… Frozen in time and space,
I am the pure incarnation of Death.
They asked: “Smile to the cam.”
Should I lie, and hide my true self to thee, for the sake of
your untroubled minds?
Even the lights of the Happy City can no longer affect me.
Capture2:
I am here and there.
I am behind and in front of me.
I go here and there.
(I grin at such wizardry!)
Between before and after, I stand.
(Solid as an old statue not bothered by thee)
I am the freak, who shall soon see,
How trapped is he.
Capture3:
(Exorcism/ Wide opened eyes)
Listen! They are murmuring again.
They are back! – I laugh.
The voices: We never left. We only took a fortnight nap.
Listen! They speak wisdom and foolishness.
You will never know when to take them in serious.
All mysteries of Man and Life are unraveled by them.
Often they argue, and seldom have they invited me to join
in.
I am their slave.
Hence, I am bounded to listen, with no mockery, till they
fall asleep.
How tiresome to be three sharing the same body!
The Voice: We were never three. I am one actor with multiple
personalities.

What I like about this piece of art is the organized fragmentation it suggests and the idea of exorcism that came as a matter of fact.
