When the hurly- burly 's done?

(When, suddenly, words visit your mind before going to be. It may not be a good poem. Still, it foreshadows my state of mind at the time being.) Put the blame on October Whenever something crazy happens Put all the blame on the three witches Whenever you speak with passion It takes a lot of courage to tell thee With anointed words what the heart feels It takes a lot of chivalry To understand me Put all the blame on October Now, it's all about witchery ___________________ By Chaima Bizani Tunis, 18/10/2012

Image

October

In October, the three witches leave their cavern. It is their time to rule the city! They take their tools of witchery(concocted potions, cauldrons and the book of shadows), and fly upon their sticks to the nearest city. There, they find the inhabitants under the spell of October. In fact, the winds which are sent by their Master have just penetrated people's nostrils. They are, now, too absorbed in their thoughts that they cannot distinguish between a witch and a muggle. As their Master promised them, decades ago,"they will always be safe in October". People become sentimentalists. They cry for a fallen leaf. They tend to shed tears whenever memories occupy their vulnerable minds. Their hearts beat lesser in October because they have gothic thoughts about death. During this month, their only prayer is to find their already-gone lovers. Their nostalgic mood makes them indeed unable to notice the changes which have taken place around them. The city has become a huge orange...

An attempt to understand the meaning of life...

Image
People would always be the biggest obstacle in front of one's innocence. They always push you to change sometimes towards the best and other times towards the worst. Thus, the result is the same which you won't ever be the same. Therefore, you have always to get advantage of the situation by learning a new lesson with each acquaintance you make. In order to be smart,  we won't let go of our innocence unless we get something in return. In this case, we earn experience, so we live. After all, life isn't the process of walking on a path destined to death. Life is the process through which we become mature with every step we make and every decision we take. To live means to exchange your innocence with experience, because only with experience one understands the real meaning of life and death. Life is the phase which helps us  get ready for that other world behind the thin veil of death. The latter is only the gate, the chasm that we need to get through to reach the ...

To You

Poem: To You Run! Runaway from this pain. Runaway to a better day. Go! Go-away to find the way. Go-away on the right Train. Don't! Don't forget about me. Don't cry because of me. And, Remember! Remember your promise to me. Remember our beautiful memories. I'll be waiting! I'll be waiting for your return. I'll be waiting front of the door to light the path. You will comeback! You will keep your oath to me! In the end, I am the Hearth of your soul, I am the womb who gave you birth. [You] Don't forget You. Written by Chaima Bizani , 09/12/2011- Ariana, Tunisia.

At The Dentist

[Dedicated to my dentist] Without a person to get comforted by, Without a patient with a good welcoming smile, The dentist tries to finish his day before its start, And the clients are sitting in the Salon waiting for their turn. Like a mournful ceremony, the dentist sees the patient's mouth. He doesn't need your name, only at the end- When you turn your wallet upside-down. Mouths in pain are waiting in the Salon, And the dentist, as a missionary, cures them all. The day comes to its end, the mouths leave their seats, And finally the dentist returns to Be. ?[Poem]

In the abyss of my soul, it shall remain under control, thanks to several thoughts made up by the mind. Unless the Freudian "I" shall rebel, and finally takes his side with the weak- painful body of my own. Oh, how long the "Am" is going to suffer from this world brought from above? Shall cries become rains so that the sky would recognize  my shouts and pain? I wrote this poem in: 3/02/2012 / El Gorgeni : IPELSHT . Chaima Bizani

IPELSHT & Me

Image
Between these six hundred heads and bodies, there is me: a normal/ordinary college student. Like all the IPELSHTist students, I take, at 8:30am, my destination towards the preparatory. Often, I am excited to attend this beautiful old castle, because I always think that I am going to discover something new between these walls. It is, like I said, an old building. In fact, it was school for girls. Its architecture is more Ottoman-like. Once, my friends and I visited the supervisor's desk. I was amazed by the old chimney. I even forgot the reason behind our visit. It was unlike the other rooms where students take courses. And from that moment, I fell in love with the institute. All my doubts and fears had vanished the moment I discovered the temple-like side of the IPELSHT, where the students of geography and history attend classes. From the beginning of the university year, I had skeptical thoughts about my choice. Moreover, the bad grades aggravated these doubts. Still, everyda...

14/01/2011 .... 14/01/2012

The Red Badge of Courage * awakens memories of the Tunisian's revolution, in one's mind. As Tunisians, we were lost, helpless and suppressed by the old regime. And all of a sudden, we were going out on the streets; shouting "DEGAGE". It has been a year since those sweet and painful memories. Still, we have a lot to do. My love to this country and my adoration to these people (which I am proud to be part of) pull me to write these humble words. Henry Fleming, the protagonist of T he Red Badge of Courage , lives a journey full of fear, doubts and tough decisions. Indeed, he somehow reflects the journey of each Tunisian towards the golden dream: Freedom. Like Henry, the Tunisian has a long path to walk on. In fact, the revolution was only the key that opened that locked gate of liberty. Henry Fleming has become a strong and brave soldier. However, as long as he is alive, there still are other skirmishes and battles to be fought. Chaima Bizani . P-S: i...
